Who we are

Small on purpose.
Customer-first by design.

You probably came here to size us up — how big, how many, how long. Here’s the honest answer: we’re small, deliberately, and have been for over two decades. This page is about the thing that actually matters when you trust a company with your quality system — not our headcount, but how we think.

The honest answer

We chose our customers over our own marketing.

For more than twenty years, TLM has been bootstrapped — no venture money, no growth-at-all-costs mandate. A small, senior team built it and shaped every design decision around direct feedback from a modest, loyal base of customers. That’s why you’ve heard less about us than the venture-backed suites — and why, when you call, you reach someone who actually knows your system.

Those customers tend not to leave — they take TLM with them. When our Management Reps or consulting partners stand up a quality system at their next company, TLM comes along. That does two things: it hardens the software against real-world use, flexing to fit how quality teams actually work; and it means the best idea any one customer has for a module becomes an idea every customer inherits. One company’s improvement quietly becomes everyone’s — a cross-pollination of best practices — continuous improvement that compounds across the entire customer base, not just within a single company.

That’s not a marketing line. Continuous improvement is the principle at the heart of every ISO-based quality system — and a requirement those standards demand. We don’t just build the tool for it. We run our own company on it.

Small never meant less capable. It meant more focused — and the record shows it:

first-time ISO certification
years championing small-business QMS
Weeksto implement — not months
A new kind of teammate

Then we added Claude to the team.

A small team has always had one hard limit: hours in the day. That changed when we brought Claude AI on as a working member of the team — not a gimmick bolted onto a menu, but a teammate operating under our people’s direct supervision. The effect surprised even us. Give AI real human oversight and you don’t get a chatbot. You get a force multiplier.

One of our senior account reps shared this insight in a meeting after the first few weeks of working with Claude AI:

“It’s like two black belts back-to-back in a bar fight, simply untouchable.”

That’s how a company this size rebuilt everything you’re looking at, shipped a full AI layer across the QMS — finding, auditing, even drafting your documents — and still answers the phone. All without growing headcount, and without raising your price.

Customer-first isn’t a slogan

You can see it in decisions we’ve already made.

Design

Single-tenant — your system on your server, never blended into a shared platform with strangers. Your data, your environment, your control.

Pricing

Priced by your size the day you sign up, then locked in. Start at ten people, grow to two hundred, and the price doesn’t move. Grow for free.

Continuity

Even our long-term contingency planning starts with you — so a system you build your quality on can never be left an orphan. (More below.)

Planning past ourselves

Even our contingency plans put you first.

Our team has many good years ahead of us. But a quality partner should think in decades, so we do. We can’t tell you exactly what the future holds — nobody can — but we can tell you how every decision will be weighed when it comes: customer first, every time.

One contingency we’ve already mapped: if the day ever came, we could hand the TLM landscape directly to the customers who run it — carried by the same Claude AI support, trained on a TLM corpus that will have been seasoning for years. Picture it a decade from now: a quality manager simply tells Claude what they want TLM to do next, and it’s done. Whatever path we choose, you will never be left holding a system nobody stands behind. That’s the promise underneath the software.

We tend to be early

Not to be first — to find advantages we can hand to you.

We were a fully remote company before remote was normal. That wasn’t a trend for us — it stripped out the overhead that inflates other vendors’ prices and let us keep yours low. We leaned into human-led AI early for the same reason: a genuine edge we could pass straight through to customers as lower cost and faster support. Being early has never been about being fashionable. It’s about staying a step ahead so you don’t have to.

The one constant

Whatever the future holds, the customer comes first.

Companies change. Strategies change. Ours won’t drift on the single thing that matters: in every decision we make, you come first. That’s the relationship we’re offering — not a headcount, not a headquarters. A partner that has your back, for the long run.
